Health & Wellbeing

In addition to the numerous benefits of the plastic pipe systems there is also a strong and reliable scientific evidence that, in general plastic pipe systems offer a lower product environmental footprint than the alternative materials. These findings are represented in Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) and Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs).

Circular Economy

Plastic pipe manufacturers have been committed to recycling and reuse from the early days when plastic pipes were put on the market over 80 years ago. Circularity of plastic pipes is being ensured by the good quality standards, testing, efficient manufacturing processes and support of sustainable industry initiatives.

Responsible Production

We strongly support the international initiative Operation Clean Sweep to reduce plastic pellet loss to the environment. The initiative’s aim is to ensure that the plastic pellets, flakes and powders that pass through manufacturing facilities are handled with care and do not end up in our rivers or seas.

LCA and EPD

Lifetime Cycle Assessment (LCAs)

Making Fair Comparisons between Alternative Materials

A scientifically-based life-cycle assessment (LCA) is the standardized method for fairly comparing the environmental impacts of different products across all stages of their life, from cradle to grave.

Environmental Product Declaration (EPDs)

TEPPFA EPD

An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) offers a standard way of communicating the output from an LCA and enables the user to assess the environmental impact of a pipe system and allows comparisons to be made with alternative products at the system level.
