To calculate the long-term deflection and resistance against buckling for plastic pipes up to a diameter of 1000mm, TEPPFA has developed an interactive tool which can also be found on the websites of TEPPFA member companies. The tool follows Svenskt Vatten’s (Swedish Water’s) publication P92. This is based on investigations of the behaviour of flexible pipes, including the TEPPFA project, The Design of Buried Thermoplastic Pipes, in the late 1990s. The Swedish expert Jan Molin was the main driver behind the development of the calculation method. This online tool is particularly handy as the calculations are fast and guaranteed to be correct.
To calculate the long-term deflection and resistance against buckling for large diameter plastic pipes, TEPPFA has developed an online tool which can also be found on the websites of TEPPFA member companies. Due to the rapid development of large-diameter plastic pipes (e.g. above Ø1000mm), we identified the need for a fast and reliable method for these kinds of pipes, including structured wall pipes. This method conforms to the European standard EN 13476: Plastics piping systems for non-pressure underground drainage and sewerage – Structured-wall piping systems. The main driver behind the development of this calculation method was the Swedish expert Jan Molin. This online tool is particularly handy as the calculations are fast and guaranteed to be correct.
